Hidden Lesson from Surah Yusuf

The one that will 5x your life

Salaam Alaykum,

Man Surah Yusuf has so many hidden gems that apply to our lives.

But here’s one that you probably haven’t heard of before.

Before I go ahead with it, I want you to think of this situation:

Imagine standing in front of a millionaire in a room with his board members.

And he offers you to be his personal assistant, but you tell him:

“Make me the CEO of your entire company. I’m the best person for this job“

You probably read that and felt your heart sinking a bit.

Well, here’s what happened to Yusuf AS.

He was in the presence of the king of Egypt.

Perhaps one of the most powerful (if not the most) powerful men in the world at the time.

And he confidently said: “Put me in charge of the storehouses of the land.
I am knowledgeable and trustworthy.” (Qur’an 12:55)

That one statement made him the Minister of Egypt.

And saved an entire nation from famine.

What Holds Us Back

You and I often shy away from doing the same.

We think talking about our skills is arrogance.

So we hide them.

We water down our resumes.
We write vague sales pages.

And then we wonder why no one notices us.

But here’s the truth:

  • Arrogance is when you believe no one is above you.

  • Humility is acknowledging that every gift you have is from the One above you.

Yusuf AS knew that he was the best person for the job because of the gifts that Allah gave him.

That’s why he thanked Allah for his Minister role and his ability to interpret events.

There are gifts that Allah has given you, which can be used to serve others.

Don’t bury them because you’re scared that you’re being arrogant when you mention them.

Acknowledge them as gifts from Allah and showcase them when you need to.

If you’re good at copywriting add it in your freelance page

If you bake nice brownies market them on your instragram.

If you’re good at Math, offer to help with tutoring.

My Personal Example

When I hit 950+ Email subs, I put the phrase “950+ Productive Muslims signed up for my Free Barakah Guide (Get it Here👇)“.

Yes, that’s you and I’m so grateful for you.

(I gotta update that cuz i have more now lol)

And that one phrase alone has opened doors for more subscribers Alhamdulilah.

Now I barely market my Barakah Flow Guide and I still get subscribers daily.

Showcasing your achievements is a sure way to open doors of opportunity.

But in the end, just remember that it’s all from Allah not you.

A 5-Minute Exercise

Here’s what I want you to do right now.

Open your notes app and list one skill Allah has given you.

  • Maybe it’s writing.

  • Maybe it’s baking.

  • Maybe it’s speaking.

Then ask ChatGPT to summarise it into one sentence that sounds professional.

Then add it in your resume or sales page.

That’s it. Five minutes.

Small action > passive waiting.

until next time,

Ali
