- When info becomes dangerous
When info becomes dangerous
Salaam Alaykum,
I used to spend hours watching productivity podcasts,
“Millionaire morning routines.”
Day-in-the-life vlogs.
And they felt good.
They gave me this rush.
This hope that I was finally about to change.
But the truth?
I was consuming more than I was doing.
My search history was more productive than me lol
My life barely moved forward.
And the answer was simple:
I was addicted to watching productivity
and not taking action.
I did some research and i found out that motivational content tricks your brain into thinking that you did work…when you didn’t
The Wisdom of Ibn Al-Qayyim:
He said that knowledge becomes beneficial only when it’s followed by action.
yes i know he was referring to religious knowledge…but his wisdom still applies to us
When you binge content without taking action,
your brain tricks you into thinking you’re growing
You feel like you’ve done something…
…but in reality, you didn’t.
That’s how you become addicted to learning,
instead of addicted to living what you’ve learned.
And that’s why your life hasn’t changed.
Having knowledge that isn’t acted upon becomes a burden.
A Better Way Forward:
Next time you watch a podcast or a video?
Don’t just take notes. Don’t just feel inspired.
Pick one tip.
One thing that hit your heart.
And act on it.
small action is more meaningful that hours of passive consumption.
Because progress isn’t in what you watch
it happens when you take action
Keep it simple.
Stay sincere.
And move with purpose.
