Zina: How to Actually Avoid it
By Easy Ali
Before we begin: Brother Jibril completed my Dua + Strategic Action course and here’s what he had to say:

If you want to change your life and achieve your dreams, then my program is for you. Get it Here.
As Salaam Alaykum,
I always heard that zina was haram.
But no one ever tells you how to stay away from it when it comes to you.
What do you do when a beautiful woman locks eyes with you… and gives you her number?
I'm talking from a brother's perspective, but this also applies to our sisters.
What do you do when that boy who promised to marry you asks you to commit zina (and you're in love with him)?
The ONLY right answer in any of these situations is to avoid it.
But it’s not that easy.
It’s not that easy to tame your soul when it feels like every inch of your body is craving it. And Shaytaan is only adding fuel to this already burning flame.
Your mind rushes with thoughts like:
“It’ll just be one time. I’ll repent after.”
You just have to say "yes" to these thoughts.
All it takes is one split second.
But that one split-second decision could ruin everything.
Your dunya.
Your Akhira.
Someone’s daughter’s life.
Someone’s marriage.
So much destruction — in the blink of an eye.
No one trains you for these fast-paced situations.
You see when zina comes to you, it doesn’t show up as a deadly sin that deserves 100 lashes.
It shows up as a harmless face, a soft laugh and a heavy perfume.
That’s what makes it dangerous.
So… how do you avoid it?
The truth is — you’ll never be able to avoid zina unless Allah protects you from it.
So here are 3 things you need to do:
1. Make sincere dua
Ask Allah to keep you away from zina. From the people. From the places. From the moments that lead up to it.
Ask Him to protect you from “random” situations that test you, and from friends who joke about it like it’s nothing.
Make this dua like your life depends on it — because it does.
2. Recite this powerful dua often
Yā Ḥayyū Yā Qayyūm, bi raḥmatika astaghīth, aṣliḥ lī sha’nī kullah, wa lā takilnī ilā nafsī ṭarfata ʿayn.
"O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I seek help through Your mercy. Rectify all of my affairs, and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye."
Remember that blink-of-an-eye moment I talked about?
This dua is protection in that moment.
You’re asking the One who is effortlessly holding together the seven heavens to keep your nafs in check.
Because if your nafs left is unchecked, it will most likely chase Zina.
In Fact, it would love every moment of it.
3. Recite this dhikr after Maghrib and Fajr
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever recites La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd, yuhyi wa yumit, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay’in qadeer, ten times after Fajr and after Maghrib — while sitting in prayer position —Shaytaan will be kept away from him the entire day, and no sin will meet him that day except shirk.”(Tafsir al-Tabari)
Imagine reciting something that takes less than 5 minutes…And it becomes a shield between you and the one sin that could wreck your dunya and your akhira.
It also becomes a shield against Shaytaan.
Your enemy who's job is to make evil deeds seem attractive.
Zina is a fire. And once you fall in it’s not easy to crawl out.
Don’t wait until you’re tested.
Start asking Allah for protection now — before it ever knocks on your door.
Until Next Time In Shaa Allah
